Summary of the Programs:
Our mission as the Clean Transportation team is to design and deliver innovative projects that support the decarbonizing of Nova Scotia’s transportation sector. Our team has multiple projects that require engagement and administrative support. Next Ride is an electric vehicle (EV) and e-bike test drive campaign where we host public events offering unbiased information and encourage members of the public to try a test drive! We are also piloting two projects exploring skills-training in the EV sector and the conversion of municipal fleets from gas to electric. Finally, we are the program administrator for the Electrify provincial rebate program for EVs and e-bikes.
Summary of Position
We are looking for an energetic, creative and highly organized individual to join our team of low-carbon transportation enthusiasts! The successful candidate will support the efficient and impactful delivery of our programming, especially the Next Ride and Electrify programs. We’re looking for someone who’s comfortable speaking with the public, adept at data management, tracking and appointment scheduling, and experienced in event planning. You don’t necessarily need to know anything about EVs and e-bikes, but you should be willing to learn! As Next Ride grows it will also include cultivating new connections, lead generation and opportunities for the team.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Understanding and managing data including spreadsheets, emails and expense-tracking.
Customer service and engaging with the public in a fun, informative, learning environment
Event planning and hosting
Coordinating the team’s schedules and events
Communicating with stakeholders
Researching current industry standards, practices, and other relevant materials.
Working with the Clean Transportation Manager to identify research focus areas and complete research reports.
Possibility of some overnight travel when participating in events.
Following proper occupational health and safety procedures.
Completing other duties as required.
Education and Required Qualifications:
Must be a Canadian citizen or legally entitled to work in Canada.
Must be 21 years of age or older.
Must possess a valid Canadian driver’s license and a clean Driver’s Abstract from the Registry of Motor Vehicles.
Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
Must be self-motivated, adaptable, and able to work independently.
Must have an aptitude for safe work practices and the ability to effectively prioritize tasks in a busy work environment.
Must be proficient with common office software, such as Microsoft Office and Outlook.
Must be comfortable with scheduling software
Must have superior organizational, research, and analytical skills.
Work experience in EVs and/or low carbon transportation is considered an asset.
Experience working in a non-profit organization is an asset.
Valid First Aid and WHIMIS are be considered assets.
