Community Engagement

Community Engagement

Change, where we live

The Clean Foundation’s community programs foster a culture of environmental stewardship. We achieve this by providing residents with environmental education, resources and training that empower them to create and maintain a sustainable future for Atlantic Canadian communities.

The Nova Scotia Youth Conservation Corps builds connections between youth and local organizations to stimulate stewardship for the natural environment and support the emergence of young community leaders. The program provides students (ages 15-30) with training and employment opportunities in the environmental sector through paid work placements with community-based organizations.

Clean also delivers the largest volunteer driven community litter pick-up program in the province, the Great Nova Scotia Pick-Me-Up. This program provides information and tools that help community members organize and deliver cleanups that keep our province clean and healthy.
