Climate Change Education
The Climate Change Education Department offers education and engagement programs and services for children, youth, adults and communities. Our approach is a flexible, participatory style of facilitation focusing on the causes, impacts and solutions for climate change through a wide variety of mediums and interactive workshops.
Our goal is to foster a collective vision of a low carbon Nova Scotia and to help facilitate the positive community action which will lead this vision to fruition. There are currently three main components to our programs; our ‘Carbon-Free-Thinkers’ program, our ‘Community Outreach’ program and our ‘Climate Change Volunteer’ program. For more information on any of the programs (listed below) please contact the Climate Change Program Manager, Katie Abriel by emailing kabriel@clean.ns.ca or telephone 902-420-7936.

We have been visiting community events, conducting participatory education workshops and talking about ways we can inspire people to take action right now. (Stay tuned – more information coming soon.)
Climate Change Volunteer Program:
The Climate Change Education Department runs an empowering volunteer training program for those wishing to become more involved behind the scenes and help to create the vision of a low carbon Nova Scotia. We currently offer formal volunteer internships for facilitators, artists and administrators wishing to get a first-hand experience of what life is like behind the scenes. Benefits to volunteers include:
- a professional reference
- work experience in the field
- additional training and professional development
- opportunities for networking and employment
