Lisa Emery
Lisa is currently manager of the CFTA radio station. She was formerly a Town Councillor for the Town of Amherst, and has served on two provincial committees including the Nova Scotia Community College Board of Governors (2005-2006) and the Nova Scotia Association of Police Boards executive of which she is still a member. In addition to her other responsibilities, she runs a small home based business regarding sustainability and environmental education. Lisa is also involved in the Cumberland Food Action Network which focuses on food security and sustainability in Cumberland County and is the environment leader for the Double D 4-H Club.

Julie-Ann Vincent
Julie-Ann is passionate about environmental causes and her community, focusing her career and much of her personal life in these two areas. She is a Senior Consultant with Dunsky Energy Consulting, an energy efficiency, renewable energy, and sustainable transportation-based consulting company. In her work, Julie-Ann works with governments, utilities, and other organizations across North America in assessing, designing, and evaluating their energy efficiency programs, policies, and potential. Prior to her role at Dunsky, she was the Manager of Regulatory Affairs at EfficiencyOne, which runs Efficiency Nova Scotia’s energy efficiency programs. Julie-Ann is an avid volunteer, having served on the Boards of United Way of Halifax, Row Nova Scotia, and the Ecology Action Centre. She also volunteers as a nationally accredited rowing umpire in between her time training and racing on the water. She holds an MBA from Saint Mary’s University and Master’s degrees in Professional Writing (University of Waterloo) and English (Western University). |

Hiren Shah
Hiren brings extensive experience in Auditing and Finance. Hiren is a CPA from Canada & USA and a Chartered Accountant from India. Recently migrated from Dubai, UAE, he is currently working with KPMG at their Halifax office. Prior to KPMG, he has worked with KPMG (Dubai), PWC (India) and various companies where he extends his experience in financial reporting and internal controls. He strongly believes that we should contribute every day to the preservation of our natural environment. Humankind should be sure that technological advances will not disturb the ecological balance of the Earth, and environmental problems should be handled by the united efforts of the global community. With this in mind, within a short time of immigrating to Canada, he has jumped into his first volunteer position with Clean to contribute to the environment and nature. |

Laura Rosaveare
Laura is a Chartered Professional Accountant with a broad range of business experience. Born and raised in Nova Scotia, Laura completed her Bachelor of Commerce Co-Op degree at Dalhousie University. Following Dalhousie, Laura completed her CPA (CA) designation with Bell Aliant where she worked in numerous business functions such as External Financial Reporting, Enterprise Risk Management and Internal Reporting. After nearly three and a half years at Bell Aliant Laura accepted a role with Deloitte New Zealand and left Canada. Working in New Zealand, Laura worked with many small to medium sized businesses on post-earthquake development projects, business valuations and was part of a major fraud investigation spanning several countries. The diverse experience Laura has gained both locally and internationally have contributed to Laura’s ability to see the big picture as well as the smaller nuances of a project. Having recently returned back to Nova Scotia Laura is currently the Manager of Financial Compliance with Emera. Laura is excited to be a part Clean’s Board of Directors and is eager to contribute to the many environmental and community projects Clean supports. |

Nic Strum
Nic has 7 years of experience working in the areas of mechanical, civil and environmental engineering. Nic currently works at Strum Consulting in Bedford, NS procuring Industrial Operating Approvals for clients, designing mechanical systems, conducting long-term environmental monitoring programs and developing new business opportunities. Previously, Nic worked in R&D designing, modelling and testing new and existing wind turbines. |
